Hixie: the htmlwg meeting last year was a complete waste of timeTPAC 2008 held up the creation of HTML Heaven on Earth by 3 weeks!
Hixie: and it slowed down development for 3 weeksread it

Hixie: i was out of work for 7 days for that meeting, traveling for a few days around that, and a week to catch up with the e-mail afterwards
Hixie: and i measure progress in terms of how much closer we were to getting interoperable implementations

Yes, because Google doesn’t pay Hixie to work on HTML5.
The reason why we only have 1 editor and can’t find another one is because apparantly no other company is offering to sponsor a fulltime editing job.

Yeah. Must have really been a drain on Hixie last year to ignore every issue that came up and hang out with his clique.
He could do that for $50 a day at SXSW, and there's good BBQ!
